    • rugby (union and league)
    • professional speedway at Owlerton
    • stock car racing
    • greyhound racing
    • Sheffield Sharks professional basketball at EIS
    • the World Snooker Championships are held each year in Sheffield
    • the English Institute of Sport (your off-ice training site) is less than a mile from Sheffield Arena. Many Olympic athletes have used it as a base for training for competition (Kelly Holmes before winning 2 Olympic golds in Athens) and for recovery from injury
    • speed skating championships have been held in Sheffield
    • Ponds Forge has frequently hosted swimming championships, as well as World diving competitions
